Friday night, I had the pleasure of attending C-Factor. C-Factor is an event put on by the Campus Entertainment Commission where studentsEllie Beeson sings her original piece at C-Factor. (Photo Courtesy of Medora Frei) perform with the hope of wooing over the audience and potentially winning their votes. The event, based on Simon Cowell’s hit television show The X Factor, featured many musical acts, a beat boxer and a clog dancer. Performances were judged by a panel of three funny judges but ultimately were judged by the audience.

After all of the performers had competed, the audience voted by texting a contestant’s code to a CEC number where the votes were tallied. After a few moments, the results were announced. In third place was Mollie Lackmann who sang and played on her guitar a medley of Justin Timberlake’s songs. Placing second was a group who performed Miley’s Cyrus’s new hit Wrecking Ball. The winner of C-Factor was Ellie Beeson. Ellie perform an original piece that she sang acapella an added an occasional stomp.

The take away from this event is how incredibly talented the people who attend Concordia truly are. Any of the acts could have easily won the competition. Thank you to everyone who participated in C-Factor and put on a great show!

Greetings! My name is Dezmond Ward. I am a freshman student pursuing a double major in political science and history. I was born and raised in Milbank, South Dakota and am now excited to call Concordia College my home.
In my freshman year, I plan to be involved in Student Government, Campus Republicans and choir. In my spare time, I enjoy watching sports, reading good books, playing golf, listening to music of all kinds and spending time with friends. I look forward to sharing my Cobber experience with you!
