Friday night, I had the pleasure of attending C-Factor. C-Factor is an event put on by the Campus Entertainment Commission where students perform with the hope of wooing over the audience and potentially winning their votes. The event, based on Simon Cowell’s hit television show The X Factor, featured many musical acts, a beat boxer and a clog dancer. Performances were judged by a panel of three funny judges but ultimately were judged by the audience.
After all of the performers had competed, the audience voted by texting a contestant’s code to a CEC number where the votes were tallied. After a few moments, the results were announced. In third place was Mollie Lackmann who sang and played on her guitar a medley of Justin Timberlake’s songs. Placing second was a group who performed Miley’s Cyrus’s new hit Wrecking Ball. The winner of C-Factor was Ellie Beeson. Ellie perform an original piece that she sang acapella an added an occasional stomp.
The take away from this event is how incredibly talented the people who attend Concordia truly are. Any of the acts could have easily won the competition. Thank you to everyone who participated in C-Factor and put on a great show!
