Drag Show and Dance.

This past Saturday night was the first ever fundraising drag show here on campus. The Gay and Straight Alliance along with the Theatre Honor Society, both of which are student lead groups at Concordia, put on the event. The event was to raise money for Kaleidoscope, a LGBTQ youth support group that is located in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Kaleidoscope offers a safe place from hate and discrimination.
For many years the Gay and Straight Alliance has wanted to do a fundraiser of this type but has never had the opportunity. Since this was the first drag show here on campus, it was very important that the event remain respectful to all who attended.
This is not the first time a college campus has done a drag show for the means of fundraising. Many colleges including, Georgia College and Warren Wilson College have a drag show every year. A drag show fundraiser is a wonderful way to give to community groups that support LGBTQ teens and youth.
