When in doubt, get an internship

Posted on Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 by

I’ve written before about how much I enjoy my internship with the Arts Partnership.  Just a few weeks ago, I started another internship, this one lasting until graduation.  I’m working hard to ensure the Downtown Fargo website is up to date, as well as communicating with Downtown business owners about events happening.  Combining social media, downtown development and face to face interactions, it couldn’t be more up my alley.

In this week’s Concordian, I wrote about the importance of getting out in the community.  Be it a service project, an organization of which you belong, or (in my case) an internship, getting involved in the community is tremendously important. I’ve been lucky this year, from my participation in organizing a TEDx event to the two internships I just listed.

Just getting off campus, applying what you’ve learned, and meeting new people can go a very long way!
