7761_10151609390206083_298537255_nThis year has been dubbed “The Year Geneva Nemzek Was On The News A Lot.” Or something catchier than that. At the beginning of the year, I was in the Fargo Forum for a story about bullying, which came out just a few weeks before MPR and Kare 11 contacted Colin and I.

The story that MPR picked up was also soon featured on the Huffington Post, though I wasn’t actually mentioned, so maybe that doesn’t actually count! In any case, a few other online news papers ran the story as well, but then everything died down, and I figured my stint with the media was over.

Turns out, I was wrong! On Wednesday, I got a call from a reporter from Fargo’s Fox News. He was doing a story on the Minnesota House Marriage Vote that was happening on Thursday, and he wanted to talk to me! I was pretty much shocked, but a couple hours later, I was hooked up with a microphone and being interviewed about what it’s like to be gay and what it’s like to have the entire MN House voting on my future.

Let me tell you, it was quite an experience! I had a great time and it was super amazing to be part of. I’ve been pretty lucky this year! Turns out, I actually kind of really like being interviewed – it’s an amazing opportunity to share my story.

  1. Mom says:

Don’t forget the story about bullying on the bus. . . so you’ve been in the news even more than you thought! 😉 xox

  2. I really don’t be aware of the way I finished up here, having said that i thought the following release was once very good. I do not understand that you can be however undoubtedly you will some sort of well-known writer any time you will not be presently. Many thanks!
