One of my finished door decs!

The past few days have been hectic, to say the least! Between packing, work, volunteering at FitNutrition in West Fargo, and getting door decorations done,

I’ve barely had time to sleep. Once again, most of my things are in boxes in preparation to move in Brown and the start of ResLife training. After hours of trying to figure out what to make for my door decs, I decided to make minions from Despicable Me! Thankfully I only have to make about 14 of them, because they’re extremely time consuming! Even so, I’m glad to be making them. They make me even more excited to start training in a couple days!

Amidst all the working, I decided to take a night off and have a girls night with my friend Olivia! We went to see the “Grease” on NDSUS’s campus, and it was absolutely PHENOMENAL. I’ve never seen so

much talent in one place! Well, other than Concordia’s talent shows ;).

From the first time I saw Grease, it’s always been a favorite of mine. But before Domres Theatricals rendition of the show, I’d never gotten goosebumps during “Beauty School Dropout”. Nina Grollman, the actress who played Frenchy, is attending Julliard in the fall and it was apparent why! She not only had a beautiful voice, but was also a very skilled piano player, as well as a very good actress. Seeing “Grease” was definitely a good way to spend a girls night!

After the show, Olivia and I met up with our friend Lauren, her boyfriend, and another one of their friends at Teaberry in downtown Fargo. Teaberry is a cozy little place that serves teas and smoothies. It’s one of my favorite places in the FM area, and the people there are always super friendly. If you ever get a chance to go there, I definitely recommend it!

Hello! My name’s Jasmine Lara, but most people call me Jazzy.

If I miraculously stick on my current career path, when I graduate from Concordia I will have a major in Social Work and Spanish, along with a minor in Psychology. Before I came to Concordia, I called Litchfield, Minnesota my home.

I’m a first generation Cobber, and the first to go to college in my family in general! Needless to say, I’m pretty proud of myself ☺. Because of this, I’m not taking my time here at Concordia for granted. Currently I’m involved in Hall Council, Homecoming Committee, and Echo Band, along with working for Dining Services and Maurices in West Fargo.

In my spare time, I like to lounge around with my friends and explore the wonderful place we call Fargo-Moorhead. On weekends you’ll often find me with my friends, whether it’s hanging out in one of their rooms, or at Kroll’s diner chowing down on one of their awesome milkshakes.

Concordia has brought me many new opportunities, some that I have yet to even figure out. Until I figure them out though, I’m just going to enjoy my time here—in my opinion, there’s nothing better than being a Cobber!
