What To Do This Weekend: Part Two: Mr. Concordia

Posted on Thursday, January 29th, 2015 by Kallie Eberling

Like always, there’s a ton going on at Concordia on campus during the weekends. I already wrote a post here which talks about the Speech Tournament going on at Concordia this weekend. But, there’s more. This Saturday night LDS (an on campus sorority standing for Lambda Delta Sigma) will be holding its annual Mr. Concordia pageant.

Mr. Concordia is an event in which 6 Concordia men will battle for the title of Mr. Concordia by showing off their talents through various “pageant” type competitions. I wasn’t able to go to Mr. Concordia last year, however I plan on going this year after hearing how fun it was from various friends.

The event will be held in the Centrum on Saturday at 7pm. I know quite a few men competing in it, and I’m sure you do as well, or at least have seen them around campus! You can purchase tickets for the event at a booth that has been open all week in the Atrium, or I often times see the competitors walking around selling out tickets. The tickets are 2 dollars if you purchase them in advance, and 3 dollars at the door. All proceeds from admission will be going towards the YWCA.

Hi! My name is Kallie Eberling. I’m excited to be continuing my education this year at Concordia! I have finally decided, after changing my mind multiple times, on an English Education major. I hope to obtain a minor in Political Science, and I am thinking about law school upon graduation.

I’m from the small town of Plentywood, Montana. It’s located about 10 minutes from Canada and 15 minutes from North Dakota. We only have one stoplight, but we are the biggest town in our county!

At Concordia, I am involved in the forensics team and various clubs. I participate in policy debate in forensics, and really enjoy it!

I’m happy to share my experience here at Concordia, and I hope you can find some useful tips from my blog!
