First Rehearsal with Foster Beyers
Posted on Wednesday, April 6th, 2016 by Mikayla Bergeron
This afternoon the choirs of the Concordia Music Department will have their first rehearsal with conductor, Foster Beyers, for this season’s masterworks concert. This rehearsal is crucial so the choir knows what the intent of the conductor is with each section of the mass before the orchestra joins us.
This year the music department will be performing Ludwig van Beethoven’s Mass in C Major featuring four soloists. Three of the soloists are Concordia’s own voice professors, Dr. Anne Jennifer Nash, Dr. Holly Janz, and Dr. David Hamilton. The fourth soloist will be guest artist, Eric H. Olson.
As the number of rehearsals dwindles down, the Concordia Orchestra and all five choirs will transform this work from notes on a page into a beautiful performance. The performance will be on Sunday, April 17th at 7:00pm in Memorial Auditorium. The performance is open to the public and tickets are free. Please come and enjoy an evening with the Concordia Orchestra, Concordia’s five choirs, as well as the four soloists, as we perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Mass in C Major.
